On Oct. 1, New York released final guidance on the anti-sexual harassment measures passed along with the 2018-2019 state budget. Employers now have until Oct. 9, 2019, to provide employees with the mandated training.
A PowerPoint training presentation with additional talking points has been included in the release, along with several case studies.
Though employers have a full year to provide training to their employees, the two anti-sexual harassment laws also mandate that businesses adopt a written sexual harassment prevention policy that meets or exceeds the content of a model policy published by the state. This mandate is immediate.
